Civil air purifier is a product that is transformed from industrial air purification equipment to civilian consumer goods, and is a more reliable environmental air pollutant prevention and control product in indoor air purification products. Because there is no unified certification standard performance for such products at present, it is not possible to intuitively perceive, and the development of the air purifier industry was once slow. However, some experts predict that China's air purifier market capacity will grow at an annual rate of 30% in the future. Under the strong market demand, China's civil air purifier industry is involved in many enterprises, including many well-known brands at home and abroad, such as Philips, Panasonic, 3M, Daikin, Electrolux, the United States, Broad and so on.

As various manufacturers compete to enter this field, a variety of miraculous functions of purifiers are also constantly launched. Wu Gan, secretary general of Tianjin Household Appliance Association, believes that in the air purifier product market, various health concepts such as "dealdehydes sterilization" played by businesses are mostly hype by businesses, and their actual effects are difficult to measure. Some experts believe that the filter on the air purifier is quite limited, and after adsorption saturation, the purifier may become a source of pollution.

In the face of industry chaos, an unnamed expert pointed out that the main reason for the serious phenomenon of disorderly competition is that the standard system is imperfect, the standard technical level is limited, and there is no enforceable unified standard. At present, there are three current domestic standards for air purifier product performance, which are mandatory national standards for antibacterial and bactericidal performance, recommended national standards for product performance and recommended light industry standards for product purification performance. Many performance indicators are the same in the three standards, but the test methods and technical requirements are quite different and conflicting, and the outstanding problems focus on the evaluation of the purification performance of various pollutants. In addition, there are obvious scientific and operational defects in these standards, and the technical level is not high. Directly to the third-party testing and evaluation institutions to carry out air purifier product testing work, bringing directionality and operational difficulties, resulting in the industry's standardized enterprises want to implement unified standards are difficult to achieve. At the same time, the main performance standards involved are recommended, and most production enterprises choose to sacrifice the interests of consumers to protect their own standards. Second, the lack of evaluation methods for important indicators makes it difficult for consumers to choose. Applicable area is the first question that consumers should ask to buy air purifier products, but there is no definition and unified evaluation method in domestic standards, resulting in enterprises to meet the actual needs of consumers, their own arbitrary provisions of the calculation and evaluation methods, even the name is also varied, applicable area, applicable volume, use area and so on. In this case, consumers can not correctly choose the right product. Third, the phenomenon of exaggerated propaganda is widespread, and the self-discipline of enterprises is poor. The purification performance of civil air purifier products needs to be evaluated by professional testing instruments according to certain test methods, resulting in the purification capacity of air purifier products, and consumers can only passively trust the publicity and test reports provided by merchants when purchasing. Based on the domestic standards are recommended standards, coupled with some irresponsible testing institutions in the industry issued unreasonable test reports and data, similar to the "1 cubic" test chamber, arbitrarily extend the test time for performance testing, purification efficiency of 99.9%, 99.99% and so on, misleading consumers.

What is more serious is that the current product certification is frequent, and enterprises are at a loss. In 2012, China's air purifier product certification has also been introduced, the unnamed expert pointed out that the level of technical requirements of these certifications are uneven, and some certification requirements are only the same as the requirements in the national mandatory standards, without considering the advanced nature. Although these are voluntary certifications, companies suddenly face different systems of certification and are at a loss in unclear circumstances.

In order to reverse the current chaotic status quo of the air purifier industry, solve the problems existing in the industry, and promote the healthy and orderly development of the industry, the industry reached a consensus. In this regard, Shen Hao, executive deputy director of the Air purification Equipment Professional Committee of the Shanghai Environmental Protection Industry Association and Secretary general of the Air purifier industry Alliance, believes that the industry alliance may be a way out for the air purifier industry in the current chaotic environment.

To this end, with the support of the air purification Equipment Professional Committee of Shanghai Environmental Protection Industry Association, nearly 30 enterprises in the industry represented by Philips, 3M, Daikin, Midea, Panasonic, Sharp, Yixin, Greweikang, Broad, Dingxin and other enterprises, China Shanghai Testing, Shanghai Environmental protection product quality supervision and inspection Station and other domestic testing institutions, The National Technical Committee for Standardization of Environmental Protection Products Air (governance) purification products Working Group, Shanghai Institute of Standardization and other standardization organizations and institutions, Tongji University, Shanghai University and other scientific research institutions jointly organized the establishment of the air purifier industry alliance.

It is understood that the alliance responds to the Shanghai Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau to guide and promote the standardization of the union's standard work, in line with the principle of improving national standards and providing intuitive performance indicators to meet the needs of consumers to buy, and strictly improve the "unified standards, unified testing, unified identification" mechanism, from the development, production, sales and use of air purifiers and other links to start. Promote orderly competition and sustainable development of the industry.
